enjoyed our last meal in the dining room.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/icalltheshot.wordpress.com\/2012\/05\/20\/so-long-yosemite\/sony-dsc-968\/\" rel=\"attachment took one last stroll around the hotel\u00a0after breakfast.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/icalltheshot.wordpress.com\/2012\/05\/20\/so-long-yosemite\/sony-dsc-976\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3469\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3469\" title=\"SONY DSC\" src=\"http:\/\/icalltheshot.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/05\/00480.jpg?w=500\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">We took a shot of the sitting room from the mezzanine level on our way out.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/icalltheshot.wordpress.com\/2012\/05\/20\/so-long-yosemite\/sony-dsc-971\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3463\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"SONY DSC\" src=\"http:\/\/icalltheshot.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/05\/65.jpg?w=500\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">Wish I could have saved my room key as a souvenir.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">True story.\u00a0 I had my souvenir\u00a0all picked out in the downstairs gift shop.\u00a0 It was a lovely onyx platter.\u00a0 The stone liked\u00a0to take my breath away.\u00a0 There was good and bad news.\u00a0 The good news, a sign said that the stone came from outside Yosemite.\u00a0 The bad news, as I went to pay for the platter, I learned that the stone not only came from Pakistan, it\u00a0made there too.\u00a0 Apparently made outside Yosemite means anywhere in the world.\u00a0 At that point the bad news did me in and I did not get the platter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/icalltheshot.wordpress.com\/2012\/05\/20\/so-long-yosemite\/sony-dsc-970\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3461\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3461\" title=\"SONY DSC\" src=\"http:\/\/icalltheshot.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/05\/414.jpg?w=500\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">Guess what?\u00a0 The guys we saw a couple of days ago (at\u00a0Tunnel View)\u00a0were at\u00a0the hotel as we were checking out\u00a0that morning!\u00a0 Can you believe we ran into them again?\u00a0 Well, I can&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">Another true story.\u00a0 We had all\u00a0of our bags piled into the car and ready to go when I realized I left something behind.\u00a0 So I ran up to the room while hubby waited.\u00a0 While I was gone, hubby\u00a0heard familiar\u00a0voices carrying on across the way (about 20 or so feet away).\u00a0 Hubby said.\u00a0 &#8220;You guys guests here?\u00a0 We don&#8217;t allow riff-raff around here.&#8221;\u00a0 While hubby caught the boys off guard, they quickly remembered him and got chuckle out of it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">We exchanged info and\u00a0plan to keep in touch.\u00a0 Our friends, yes, that&#8217;s you Joe, Tom and Mike.\u00a0 If you&#8217;re reading this, we trust all is well.\u00a0 And if you&#8217;re ever in the San Diego area, please let us know.\u00a0 We would love to see you again.\u00a0 This was such a total unexpected treat to bump into them again.\u00a0 Hey Mike, we missed you, wish we could have said hello to you too.\u00a0 We hope you were getting some amazing shots of that tree&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">Joe, me and Tom<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">We stopped at Tunnel View\u00a0one last time before we pulled away from the park.\u00a0 It just seemed the right thing to do.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/icalltheshot.wordpress.com\/2012\/05\/20\/so-long-yosemite\/sony-dsc-977\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3470\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium style=\"text-align:justify;\">Then we drove up the road to see the Sequoia&#8217;s at Mariposa Grove.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/icalltheshot.wordpress.com\/2012\/05\/20\/so-long-yosemite\/sony-dsc-972\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3464\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3464\" title=\"SONY DSC\" src=\"http:\/\/icalltheshot.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/05\/74.jpg?w=500\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">It was the first time for me to see these beautiful trees.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/icalltheshot.wordpress.com\/2012\/05\/20\/so-long-yosemite\/sony-dsc-973\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3465\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3465\" title=\"SONY DSC\" src=\"http:\/\/icalltheshot.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/05\/85.jpg?w=332\" alt=\"\" width=\"332\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">The &#8220;Grizzly Giant&#8221; behind me is the 25th largest giant sequoia living today. The circumference at the ground is 96.5 feet = It&#8217;s HUGE and pix don&#8217;t do justice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/icalltheshot.wordpress.com\/2012\/05\/20\/so-long-yosemite\/sony-dsc-974\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3466\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3466\" title=\"SONY DSC\" src=\"http:\/\/icalltheshot.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/05\/94.jpg?w=500\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">Hubby and the Grizzly Giant.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/icalltheshot.wordpress.com\/2012\/05\/20\/so-long-yosemite\/sony-dsc-975\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3467\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3467\" title=\"SONY DSC\" src=\"http:\/\/icalltheshot.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/05\/103.jpg?w=332\" alt=\"\" width=\"332\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">After our little hike and visit with the\u00a0Sequoia&#8217;s, it was time to hit the road.\u00a0 It was time to go home and we were ready.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">I can&#8217;t lie, I did reach for that pillow in the backseat and I did close my eyes and I did fall asleep on our way home.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">We made it home safe and sound sometime around 9 o&#8217;clock\u00a0in the\u00a0evening.\u00a0 The good news, we still had the weekend around home sweet home to rest up before the work week.\u00a0 I love that we plan at least a day or two at the end of each trip to rest up before work.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">This\u00a0concludes Hubby&#8217;s 50th Birthday, an amazing week filled with lots of fun and great memories.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:justify;\">Blessings &#8211; Debbie<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>And so long, room with this view.
