As of last night and this morning Bobby had somewhat decided to wait ‘til next Thursday to go back to TX ~ so much to do, so little time. I told him I didn’t care one way or the other and whatever he decided suited me just fine. I got the call this afternoon and he feels we really need to get back and get through as much stuff as possible. I did say that if we leave Saturday that I would like the latest flight possible and he honored my wishes. We will be leaving Saturday early evening and spending our last 3 weeks at the place we called home for many years.
I have exhausted myself with floor plans today and I keep going back to the one we really like. Who knows just yet what the exact foot print is going to look like but we certainly don’t want to rush it.
I do need a break from this and I also need to start thinking about dinner plans. That’s all for today.
I so remember those days – fun but at times overwhelming. I’m so glad you are able to build, it is wonderful to end up with exactly what you want.
There is one thing I advise to every woman who is looking over floor plans. Either you or your house buy a program that allows you to look at whatever floor plan you choose in 3-D. We ended up making big changes that we are SO glad we did after putting our drawings onto the computer and turning them into something we could truly visualize. The program we bought was super cheap and that was many years ago – I’m sure there are much easier and better ones out there. They are also a lot of fun to use and play around with as most allow you to experiment with color, furniture, etc.
If they work like they are supposed to you will have a true picture in front of you of what your finished home would look like on the inside.
That is just too funny Mary Ellen that you said that.
The builder wants to meet with us tomorrow evening and go over a few of the plans we really like.
However Bob doesn’t feel “ready” because he doesn’t have the plans put into his program yet. There are some things we want to change already with each plan but he wanted to do that before our meeting.
He is something else. When we lived in TX, he had his whole office area in his little program. He took the measurements of all the furniture he wanted and plugged it into his program before he bought the furniture.
He also had the garage into his program too. He was still working on how he wanted to configure it with shelves and whatnot. But we moved before he got to finish his plan.
That’s awesome he already has one – then you know what I’m talking about!
I was horrible at reading house plans, since it was our first time to build, but that computer program that put them into 3-D for me was a lifesaver. Now I can read them pretty good on paper, but I still prefer the computerized 3-D method that really allows me to visualize what I’m seeing.
