Hubby and I just finished watching Amistad. This was a colorful movie, with a gripping performance, based on a true story dating back to 1839 regarding slavery. Amistad was directed by Steven Spielberg in 1997. John Quincy Adams played by “Anthony Hopkins” plays an important roll and has a dramatic speech toward the end that brought goose bumps and tears. There were a few parts that I just could not watch during the film as it’s really hard for me to watch any type of cruelty. Fortunately those parts did not last long. I know it’s a film but I still can’t watch.
Freedom has a different meaning depending on who you ask. I am so thankful for our freedoms and don’t want to take for granted the freedoms we share. I personally don’t know what it’s like to “want” or long for “freedom” in any fashion. I’m truly blessed and that I’m thankful for.
If you have not seen this movie, it’s well worth it.
Blessings to all and goodnight.
